If you’re like me, you do a lot of stuff on your phone. Why wouldn’t you though? It’s a mini-computer in your hand! I feel like it helps keep me entertained, organized, and productive, especially if I don’t have my planner nearby.
These are the apps I’m currently using that I’m obsessed with. All of them are free to download so get exploring!
*Note: These are apps are all available on the App Store for iPhones but I haven’t done any research to see if they’re available on Google Play.
Timehop
I personally love Timehop because I get to see old pictures I took on this day years back and get to see funny things I tweeted or re-tweeted. You can connect Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Swarm, Dropbox, Google, and your iPhone Camera Roll. The only downfall to this app is seeing how not cool and not funny you were 8 years ago on Facebook and you’ll have to struggle with the idea of unfriending yourself.
At the end of your stroll down memory lane, Timehop will also show you what happened in the world and pop culture on this day so that part is always interesting (and makes you feel old).
The Food Apps:
DoorDash, GrubHub, Postmates & Uber Eats
I use all four of these interchangeably depending on what I’m in the mood for. I do use it sometimes at home when I’m too lazy to go get food but most of the time, I use it at work. I can order food quickly while I’m in a meeting and go downstairs to pick it up after it’s over. Personally, I’ve found that Uber Eats is the fastest delivery of the four but it doesn’t have as many options as the others (at least not in my area). That’s something you’ll have to experiment yourself!
Postmates just recently launched in Salt Lake a few months ago so it’s relatively new to me and I still haven’t experienced all of the options (like getting clothes from Lululemon delivered to you???). If you’ve used it, I definitely want to hear from you!
Venmo
If you don’t have this app, you’re legitimately missing out. News flash, lots of people don’t carry cash anymore so picking up the tab and expecting someone to pay you back in cash right after is a little old-fashioned. With Venmo, I can easily send you money from wherever I am. Maybe I forgot to pay you for lunch last week and you really need the $10 but I’m in Hawaii, happily vacationing. You can request the $10 from me from the app and with one tap, you’ll have your money.
It took me a while to convince Steph to get it because she doesn’t like apps that require your bank information but she came around and I’m pretty sure she loves it.
Albert
This is a newer app for me but I like it a lot. This is a finance app where you can connect all your accounts where you have money on credit (banks, card companies, etc.) and it will also track your income and spending habits. I personally like it because if I get a notification that I just dropped $200 in 5 separate visits to Target but I didn’t realize it, I’m going to need a wake-up call. Albert will give you one!
It also will save money from your bank account periodically for a rainy day fund (or whatever you want to name it) and you can transfer it back to your account whenever you need it. I used to have Digit before they required a monthly fee and I loved it because it would pull small amounts of money from my account and save it for me. They had also switched the layout of the app so it made it hard for me to change the frequency of the saving. Anyway, Albert is great because you can watch all of your financial activity in one place.
Clue
I’ve been using Clue for a couple years now and I love it. It’s a period tracker but it learns your cycle as you put your data in and will tell you when to expect your next period. You can track what days you took your birth control, what days you had cramps or headaches, when you exercised, what moods you were in, how much sleep you got, your sexual activity, your energy levels, your weight, and more!
You can also connect it to your Apple Health app so it will import your data in there. Another feature it has is the ability to share your cycles with your friends and see theirs as well. I bet your friends will love that one!
Wunderlist
I live and breathe to-do lists. Something about checking something off or crossing it out just makes me feel super accomplished. That being said, I also swear my memory’s been going downhill so having a to-do list on my phone where I can’t forget it at home or leave it at work is extremely helpful.
Wunderlist lets you make categories of things, like groceries, movies to watch, books to read, travel, things to buy, etc. so all your tasks are organized in their own categories. LOVE THAT. You can change the background of your to-do list and you can also set due dates if you need to do something by a certain time! This is a great to-do app. You’ll love it.
I’m always looking for the next app that will change how I do things so if you have any suggestions, let me know!
xoxo Michelle
